IOLMaster — Overview Mode.
Overview Mode - Image Alignment
Prior to Measurements
O
key, or the button with the magnifying glass icon, as pictured on the left. This is the Overview mode, which allows for coarse image
alignment prior to taking measurements.
In this mode, the patient is
aligned with the IOLMaster by using the joystick (see 1 below).
Turn the control knob
for vertical adjustment.

Adjusting the device to the patient
The two red ring marks (2, above) on the side rails of the headrest
are for rough vertical adjustment of the chin rest, (3, Fig. 3). The patient’s
eyes should be level with these marks. Tell the patient to look steadily at
the fixation point in the centre. Adjust the device-to-patient distance until
the 6 light spots (as shown below) appear focused. If possible, the 6 light
spots should be centred on the cross hairs and the edge of the pupil/iris structure
should appear in focus. The position of the device in relation to the patient’s
eye thus found serves as a starting point for fine adjustments to be made in
the respective measurement mode. This should be done prior to taking Axial
Length Measurements.
