Alcon AcrySof Toric IOL - Marking the Cornea 
Marking the cornea prior to placement of the Alcon AcrySof toric IOL.
This video demonstrates how to mark the cornea prior to implantation of the Alcon AcrySof toric IOL. With the patient sitting upright and looking at a distance target, marks are first placed at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions using a Blakewell BubbleLevel. In the operating room and under the operating microscope, a Gimbel/Mendez fixation ring is aligned with the reference marks. Note that with the patient recumbent, there is about 10° of excyclotorsion. The implantation axis (24°) and the location of the incision (155°) are marked with the Bores Meridian Marker.
