East Valley Ophthalmology’s reputation in the United States and overseas means that many of our patients live outside Mesa, Arizona.
To best serve patients traveling to see us, East Valley Ophthalmology is well-equipped to offer assistance. We excel at arranging a smooth, time-sensitive program tailored to your needs, ensuring the highest level of medical and rehabilitative care while accommodating your schedule.
Many of our patients prefer to plan a single visit to Arizona, where they can have a consultation in our office, undergo eye surgery, and receive the necessary follow-up exams within a short time. Once your EVO physician has reviewed your medical records and consulted with your referring eye doctor, we will be able to let you know the options that are available to you.

- Send this authorization to release medical information to your local eye doctor so that your existing records can be sent directly to us.
- Send or FAX these items to us:

Once we review your medical records and information, our surgical coordinator will contact you to help schedule your visit.
How long will you stay?
Based on the exact details of your case, we will inform you of the duration of your stay in Arizona. It will vary depending on the eye surgical procedure, your medical condition, the distance you travel, and your method of travel back. We are here to help you return home safely and quickly.
Many patients are concerned about what they would do if a problem should develop after they return home. We understand this concern; fortunately, there has never been such a problem. We maintain regular follow-up contact with you and your referring eye doctor to ensure your continued well-being.
Do you need directions from the airport to our office?
From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (3400 E Sky Harbor Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85034) to our office is approximately 23 miles, which is about a 30-minute drive, but can take up to 50 minutes in traffic.
- Head east on East Sky Harbor Blvd from the airport for about 2.5 miles.
- Merge onto the 202 East (clearly marked) for about 4 miles.
- Take exit 9 to merge onto 101 South for about 3 miles.
- Take exit 55 to merge onto 60 East for about 10 miles.
- Take exit 186 for Higley Road, make a left onto Higley, and head north for a little over 1.5 miles.
- Turn right at E Broadway Road and proceed up to the first light, approximately 0.5 miles.
- Make a left turn onto 56th Street and immediately turn right into our parking area.
