Artful approach, natural results

Dr. Nirenberg of East Valley Ophthalmology combines the latest innovative technologies with years of experience and research to produce visually stunning results. He takes pride in fulfilling and surpassing his patients’ expectations of achieving the well-rested, youthful appearance they desire. Dr. Nirenberg consistently strives for the highest quality, most natural-looking results in the profession.

Blepharoplasty is both a functional and cosmetic surgical procedure that reshapes the upper or lower eyelid by removing excess tissue, repositioning remaining tissue, and reinforcing surrounding muscles and tendons.

To improve your vision:

  • When an excessive amount of upper eyelid skin is present, it may hang over the eyelashes, causing loss of peripheral vision. The outer and upper parts of the visual field are most commonly affected, and the condition may cause difficulty with activities such as driving or reading. In this circumstance, Dr. Nirenberg performs upper eyelid blepharoplasty to enhance peripheral vision while also improving the patient’s appearance.

For cosmetic reasons:

  • Patients with a less severe amount of excess skin may have a similar procedure performed for cosmetic reasons. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is almost always done for cosmetic reasons, such as to improve lower eyelid puffiness and reduce skin wrinkling. The goal of Dr. Nirenberg is to leave the patient with the most natural-looking, age-appropriate enhancement possible.
