Do you enjoy knowing how things work?
No eye is perfect, which means that all eyes have at least some degree of imperfection or “aberration”. Common imperfections are referred to as “lower order aberrations” and include nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
“Higher order aberrations” are other imperfections in your eye’s optical system that may affect your vision clarity and how well you see in low light. These aberrations can cause vision errors, including difficulty seeing at night, glare, halos, blurring, starburst patterns, or double vision.

The chart above (courtesy of Alcon Inc.) illustrates common shapes of aberrations created when light passes through the eyes using wavefront technology.
