A locally interrupted tear film considerably changes the scattering properties
of the cornea. For this reason, the optical section of the cornea may become
irregular.
Ask the to patient blink several times to replenish the tear film on the
cornea, then take the measurement immediately or use a tear supplement
to prevent rapid drying.
